​Unit 6 Inheritance

In this unit we will:
   1. Explain the role of meiosis in sexual reproduction and genetic variation.
   2. Predict offspring based on a variety of inheritance patterns.
   3. Explain how the environment can influence the expression of genetic traits.
Connection to Evolution:
  • What are the evolutionary advantages of sexual reproduction?  Of asexual reproduction? Of being able to do either?
  • ​Humans in more developed countries are having children later in life. How could this alter the pattern of inheritance of dominant alleles such as Huntington's Disease? How could this alter patterns of epigenetic inheritance?
